Getting Started
Getting started with Zota for WooCommerce is simple. Just visit the Plugins page in WordPress, ensuring you find the right options in settings. Setting up multiple payment methods is also straightforward; we provide multiple endpoints representing different local payment methods.
Zota’s WooCommerce setup guide
To make life simple for Developers, our setup guides below offer step-by-step instructions.
1. Download & install
Download, install, and activate Zota for WooCommerce from the ‘Plugins’ page in the WordPress administration
2. Activation
After activation, click on ‘Plugins’ or go to WooCommerce -> Settings -> Zota.
3. Test Mode
If we have provided test credentials, the ‘Test Mode’ box should be checked. For live credentials, this checkbox should remain empty.
The merchant ID and merchant secret key are provided by Zota.
4. OrderID
Zota orderID column checkbox lets you add or remove Zota’s order ID row from the general order UI:
5. Payment methods configuration
Each provided endpoint can be configured as a payment method. You can add a title, description, and logo to the payment method, which will be available for the end user on the checkout page. You can add as many payment methods as you need in order to customize the checkout.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure that all the endpoints set in the plugin settings are in your shop’s currency. Endpoints created with a different currency from your shop’s currency will cause API errors.
6. Overpayment and partial payment statuses
Zota supports a variety of payment methods, some of which are not instant, such as cash-based payments, Cryptocurrencies, and P2P solutions. Due to this, the final amount received might not match exactly the initial amount due to various factors. In some cases, the funds received are overpaid or underpaid compared to the amount we expect to see. In these cases, the MetaGate system will send a callback with the updated amount to the Woocommerce platform, notifying them of the relevant amount modification (partial payment/overpayment):|
If there is an additional partial payment made by the end user, amounts are automatically summed up, and the order is moved into the ‘Processing’ status when the missing amount is paid.
